On November 19th at 5 pm, Our Saviour will celebrate our annual Ingathering. This is a time for our church to rejoice in what God has done and thank him for the many blessings he has bestowed on us.
Every year at the Ingathering we take up an over and above special gift. The Elders have decided to designate this year’s gift to go toward those devastated by the recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. We are going to offer our support in two ways:
- 50% of the money we raise is going directly to relief efforts through our denominational crisis response team that is already on the ground in those places helping people. (To learn more about this fund go here)
- We’re currently organizing trips to aid in these efforts. Those who go will be doing physical labor to rebuild homes and restore communities. 50% of the money raised at our Ingathering will be designated to help supplement the cost for church members willing to go and serve. This removes one of the barriers that might prevent some from going in the hopes of sending as many people as possible.
Please pray about a gift that would be over and above your normal tithe. Also, consider being a part of a trip to the hurricane-affected areas.
